Archiviato anche il mese aprile con l’incredibile God of War e l’ottimo Yakuza 6: The Song of Life arriviamo a maggio con grandi aspettative su alcuni titoli come Detroit: Become Human e il ritorno del tanto amato Dark Souls.

Si parte subito il 4 maggio con il ritorno su Nintendo Switch dello scimmione più famoso dei videogiochi, Donkey Kong, con il titolo Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze una versione migliorata del gioco uscito su Wii U che vede alcuni contenuti aggiuntivi tra cui il personaggio Funky Kong.

Passiamo poi all’otto maggio con il primo titolo dedicato al tennis di questa generazione di console, AO International Tennis, che ci porterà a vivere le gesta dei più grandi campioni della disciplina tra cui Rafael Nadal e Nole Djokovic; stesso giorno ci potremo dilettare anche con l’action survival targato Funcom, Conan Exiles, nel quale dovremo cercare di sopravvivere in tutti i modi in situazioni proibitive da soli o in modalità multigiocatore su server pubblici e privati.
Ma non è finita qui dato che ritornerà a far parlare di sé anche Destiny 2 con la nuova espansione “La Mente Bellica” che porterà nuove missioni, ambientazioni, armi e modalità per cercare di ridar vita allo shooter MMO di Bungie.

Qualche giorno più tardi, il 15 maggio, sarà il turno della tanto attesa versione Nintendo Switch Battle Chasers: Night War, il titolo targato Vigil Games ispirato ai classici JRPG, con un sistema di combattimento a turni e una ricca quantità di dungeon generati proceduralmente, ricchi di trappole, puzzle, segreti e ricompense; inoltre lo stesso giorno ci sarà spazio anche per Dragon’s Crown Pro, la remastered dell’omonima produzione che conserva tutti gli elementi di gameplay, tra cui lo sfarzo visivo 2-D di Vanillaware e il design dei personaggi, aggiungendo aggiornamenti current-gen.

Ma sono gli ultimi dieci giorni di maggio che nascondono i veri e propri pezzi da 90 con Microsoft che il 22 del mese lancerà la sua seconda esclusiva importante del 2018, State of Decay 2, il seguito del tanto amato State of Decay che ci porterà a relazionarci da vicino con degli zombie che ci vorranno fare la pelle a tutti i costi. Insieme a questo troveremo ad aspettarci anche il secondo titolo di tennis di questa generazione, ossia Tennis World Tour, una produzione molto promettente targata BigBen Interactive che attraverso una carriera che sembra decisamente profonda ci consentirà di scalare la classifica mondiale.

Ovviamente non può mancare la risposta di Sony a State of Decay 2 ed ecco che il 25 maggio è il giorno di Detroit: Become Human, il nuovo titolo di David Cage e Quantic Dream che si prospetta decisamente interessante nel quale impersoneremo ben tre androidi affrontando tematiche profonde e una storia affascinante. Si chiude il mese con un altro attesissimo ritorno, Dark Souls Remastered, con i giocatori che potranno ripercorrere le gesta del proprio non morto in quel di Lordran e affrontare tutti i boss più iconici del primo capitolo della saga su PC, PS4 e Xbox One.
